Reiser (Ret.) to present at the October virutual meeting.  \n \nNearly 30 years ago to the day, the First District Court of Appeal revolutionized the law of trusts in California by authorizing assets on death to be deemed held in trust, despite never having title to the particular asset(s) fully perfected. Over the interim three decades, the Heggstad authorization has been used, and sometimes misused, to avoid assets from being subjected to the delays and scrutiny of probate.
